TEACHING
Nathan has been teaching in pre-vocational and vocational settings since 2003. He is a Fellow and Examiner of the ISTD for the Modern and Tap Faculties, a former member of the tap committee and is part of the creative and teaching teams. Additionally he is a teacher member of the ISTD, NATD and bbodance organisations.
Nathan is now the Managing Director of the Dang Theatre and Dance Syllabus and oversees the running and artistic development of the syllabus - currently specialising in Musical Theatre and Street and Commercial Dance. As part of its launch, Nathan has led several workshops for teachers on developing musical theatre training for young children and adults.
Nathan has taught at many of the leading full-time vocational colleges across the UK, alongside teaching children, guest workshops and masterclasses.
Predominantly focusing on teaching tap technique, choreography and repertoire, Nathan has also taught technical jazz, partner work, choreography, alongside a range of academic subjects within the field of musical theatre and film. He has also tutored dissertation students at both postgraduate and under-graduate levels.
For many years Nathan was on the full-time faculty of the degree programme at the Urdang Academy and ran the course for 3 years. Nathan currently teaches tap at Performers College, Birmingham.
